Not that I am a big fan of guns or anything like that, but I always found entertaining those scenes of complete chaos and violence that the movies brought to us.
Here is a list of 10+1 Best Shootout Movie Scenes
Hope you enjoy it.
Some of them are all time classics (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, such a masterpiece!) others are not as exciting today as they were when the movie was released (I’m thinking of Matrix for example, I remember that I loved it when it came out but I found it almost boring today ;)).
Disclaimer: Most of those seen are extremely violent (Yes people died! But don’t worry it’s not for real, it’s movies…).
1. Children of men
I love this movie, and this shootout scene is just perfect. The sound is particularly interesting. Be careful if you never watched the movie before, it may spoil a bit
[IMDB]
2. Saving Private Ryan
I think it’s a classic of modern “computerized special effect” cinema. Once again it’s even better with a 5.1 sound system
[IMDB]
3. Heat
Another huge scene from an excellent movie. Al Pacino and Robert De Niro are shooting at each other in the middle of the city after a bank robbery. Awesome sound. A classic. [IMDB]
Actually I found out that something very similar happened in real life. It’s known as the “North Hollywood Bank Shootout” and it’s on youtube…
4. The Matrix
I found it really exciting when it was released but I found it really boring today. Probably because at that time it was the first movie to use those effects, but now we see it in almost every action movies… [IMDB]
5. Les Tontons flingueurs
Awesome classic from French cinema
The guns are doing “POP - POP” and the lines are beautiful
[IMDB]
6. The Untouchables
Another masterpiece, with reference to Eisenstein. [IMDB]
7. Scarface
Al Pacino again in this final scene from Scarface. [IMDB]
8. The Getaway
Steve McQueen directed by Sam Peckinpah in the original of The Getaway. [IMDB]
The shootout scene has been withdrew from youtube, so you guys will have to do with the trailer
9. Leon
Jean Reno at what it does best: shooting
Movie from French director Luc Besson with a very young Nathalie Portman. [IMDB]
10. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Another classic among the classics. [IMDB]
10+1. Hot Shot
And the bonus is… Hot Shot of course! [IMDB]
